Today we're celebrating the 60th anniversary of New York's iconic Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Sixteen years after it was first conceived, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Guggenheim Museum opened to the public on October 21st, 1959. Around 10,000 visitors flocked the opening, which showcased the work of artists including Kandinsky, Mondrian, Pollock, Kooning, and Brancusi.
